New River Baptist Association Annual Meeting October 17, 2021
The NRBA Annual Meeting was held at Fries Baptist, Marc Bewley, pastor, and NRBA director welcomed everyone. With our moderator out sick, Stan Carpenter, Vice Moderator opened the meeting in prayer. After a congregational hymn, Marc brought the meeting to order. Minutes were presented, a motion was made and seconded to accept and carried. The treasurer’s report was given. Russell Branscome is our new treasurer with Sherry Key remaining as an assistant. Sherry Key submitted last year’s giving report. The motion was made, seconded, and passed to accept the report. Cory Byrd, the new pastor of Brush Creek was introduced. With no new business discussed the meeting was adjourned. We turned our focus to Pastor’s Appreciation Month with Marc recognizing all pastors present and presenting them with a goody bag and a certificate of appreciation. Each pastor was given the opportunity to tell how long they have served at their current church and a bit about themselves. The evening was closed with the hymn Victory in Jesus and our director closed us in prayer. Everyone gathered in the fellowship hall and enjoyed goodies provided by the Fries Baptist Women.
There were 6 pastors present, 21 messengers, and 7 visitors in attendance with a total of 34 present.
Respectfully submitted, Andrea Smith NRBA clerk
